breeding to the standard
The AKC Standard is the blueprint for the Brussels Griffon. It tells us exactly how the dog should look, move, and act. Following the Standard means we can have consistency in their look and temperament. Much like you would want a contractor to know building codes, breeders should know the Standard. Without it, it may as well be a different breed or a mix.
The purpose of dog shows is to have an impartial third party evaluate your breeding prospects. AKC Judges examine how closely the dog resembles the Standard, the condition of the dog, and how they act/move.
So this means when we say a dog is a good representation of the breed, you don’t have to just take our word for it. The AKC titles we have worked for are the evidence to back up that claim.

Health testing
Griffons can live on average 12-15 years. To ensure that time is as comfortable as possible, health testing every generation of Fist Face Griffons is an integral part of our program. We post ALL results, good or bad, and are happy to discuss how that factors into our decision making process. Testing is a wonderful tool that can help us better predict the success of our puppies.
Our regular testing protocol includes:
Patellar Luxation
Eye Exam - By an ophthalmologist
Basic Cardiac - By a cardiologist
DNA/Color Testing
Hips

Dedication to the sport/volunteer work

preparing our puppies
✶
To ensure the best possible start for our puppies, we treat everyone like they’re going to be a show dog. That means we incorporate Early Neurological Stimulation for neonates, implement parts of programs like Puppy Culture, and utilize the best veterinarians.
A commitment to age appropriate socialization means your puppy will be ready to meld into your life like they were born to be there. Our puppies are exposed to small children, large dog breeds, and cats. They come with age appropriate vaccinations, a microchip, contract, some crate training, leash training, travel exposure and life long support.
